Graduations
Congratulations to all of our students who are moving on to the next steps in their educational journeys!

Our Head Start (Pre-K) students will be graduating on Friday, May 31st at 9:00 am in the Auditorium!
Our kindergarten students will be graduating on Monday, June 3rd at 10:00 am in the Auditorium!
Our 8th Grade students will be graduating on Tuesday, June 4th at 10:00 am at Christ Community Church of Philadelphia (4017 Chestnut St, Philadelphia, PA 19104, https://www.cccphila.org/)!

Lea Day
Henry C. Lea School staff is proud to present our annual field day event — “Lea Day” — for our students, families, and staff on Thursday, May 30th throughout the school day. On Lea Day, students and staff will participate in outdoor games in the big schoolyard, “Minute-To-Win-It” games in the gym, classroom activities such as games and movies in their homeroom classrooms, and snack breaks in the small schoolyard (ice cream and soft pretzels).

Please read the attached letter for more details, and if you have any questions or concerns about Lea Day, please contact Mr. Rich (rjliuzzi@gse.upenn.edu) in Room 125.

How to Volunteer on Lea Day
We would love for Lea family members to help facilitate fun on Lea Day, and we’re in need of volunteers to help with various activities. If you’re willing and able to volunteer, follow the directions below:

ONLY family members WITH CLEARANCES can volunteer on Lea Day.
If you have clearances and want to volunteer, please do the following:
Complete the Volunteer Sign-Up Form by following this link: https://tinyurl.com/lea-day-2019-volunteer-sign-up
Submit copies of your clearances to Mr. Rich’s mailbox in the Main Office by no later than Wednesday, May 29th.
Lea staff will contact you to confirm that you have permission to volunteer, as well as to share details about your volunteer responsibilities.

AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAM INFORMATION

The last day for all after school programming will be next Friday, May 31st.

FAMI-LEA INFORMATION

School Advisory Council (SAC)
Our last SAC meeting of the year was on May 8, 2019 at 4:30 PM in the Lea Library. Our first SAC Meeting of the 2019-2020 school year is tentatively scheduled for the week of August 26th.

Home & School Association (HSA)
The HSA is selling Lea swag as a fundraiser! We have “be-LEA-ve” t-shirts as well as Lea pop sockets and stickers! Ask an HSA officer or email us at leahomeandschool@gmail.com. Baseball T’s are $15, regular T’s are $10, and pop sockets are $3.

The last HSA meeting of the school year will be on Wednesday, May 29th at 3:30 PM in Room 106.  Please join us!

Student Council
Lea’s Student Council will have their final meeting of the school year next Friday, May 31st, from 3:15 – 5:30 pm in the Lea Library. We will celebrate all of our hard work this past school year with food, drinks, and a movie!
